The Indian e-Medical Visa is available to nationals of 167 countries and typically processes in 24–72 hours. Here is everything you need to apply successfully — and avoid the common mistakes that cause rejections.
You need a valid passport (6+ months validity, 2 blank pages), a passport-size photo (front-facing, white background, JPEG, equal height and width), a letter from the treating hospital in India confirming your appointment, medical records supporting your diagnosis, and a bank statement showing sufficient funds for treatment.
Travellers from Yellow Fever affected countries — including Nigeria, Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Ghana, Uganda, and others — must carry a valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate on arrival. Without it, you may be quarantined for 6 days. Your GoMed coordinator flags this early and sends reminders.
Bangladesh nationals cannot use the e-Visa system and must apply through designated IVAC centres with a paper visa — processing takes 3–4 weeks. Pakistan nationals can enter India but must register with FRRO within 7 days of arrival. Your coordinator manages both processes.
All international travellers must complete a digital e-Arrival Card up to 72 hours before landing in India. The system is fully digital as of March 2026. Your coordinator sends you the link and step-by-step instructions via WhatsApp 72 hours before departure.
